One of the hardest lessons for me to learn has been relinquishing control, to stop taking things into my own hands and trying to make them happen in my own timing.
I want to embark on whatever adventure comes next but…
It’s not for me to make this happen. It’s God’s timing.
I have no choice but to wait, and despite the fear & potential disappointments I just can’t muster the energy to try to figure this out.
Trying to find solutions to fit my plans and timeline has never accomplished anything but to give me anxiety.
God is faithful, and His timing is not and will never be mine, but I know I can trust Him.
God will work it out. If it’s not now, it’ll be the next time. I know that God knows what’s best better than I ever will.
He has already brought us this far, I’ve already waited this long, and as Ezekiel said, God promised, and He keeps His promises.
So, as much as I want to do all I can to ensure that the time is now, I’m not going to.
As the saying goes:
“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”
And I don’t care to get more of the same anymore.
I didn’t just leave Texas.
I left the girl who moved there 16 years ago.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.”
